  1. Preoperative study visits will be scheduled within 7 days before surgery
  2. Minimally invasive evaluation includes operation time, blood loss, intraoperative complication, and incision length
  3. Inflammatory parameters including procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), and interleukin (IL)-6 will be measured at 24 h, 72 h, and 120 h postoperatively
  4. Short-term recovery including time to first flatus, liquid diet, and duration of hospital stay will be recorded daily in-hospital
  5. Colonoscopy will be performed at 1 year after surgery and will be repeated at 3 years if no lesions are found
  6. Tumor marker includes carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA 19-9)
  7. CT computed tomography, M Month, POD postoperative day, VAS visual analogue scale
